Looking for new places to visit this 2019? We got you! Just get everything in order, call your travel buddy and pack your bags!

Being wellness tourists, we're looking for specific things and experiences when traveling to new, exciting places. We don't want to sacrifice our health when traveling, it's simply a "no-no" for us. Instead, we want to get to know the world while still nurturing the right way our body, mind, and soul. Unfortunately, there are some places where it's just harder to maintain a healthy lifestyle while traveling... but this is not the case for Spain!

The Bloomberg Healthiest Country Index has recently named Spain as the healthiest country in the world! This index takes into account different variables that directly affect overall health. These go from environmental factors like sanitation and access to water, to life expectancy, tobacco use, and eating habits.

Aside from visiting the beautiful streets and monuments of Madrid, the sunny beaches and Gaudí's artworks throughout Barcelona, and tasting Spain's delicious paella and fresh sangria, we recommend visiting these three wellness destinations and experiences when traveling to Spain:

Lanzarote

Located in the Canary Islands archipelago. Although this destination is a bit far away from continental Spain, you won't want to miss it! Like every island of the archipelago, Lanzarote is a volcanic island, meaning you'll find lots of black sand beaches and amazing views!

Enjoy playing golf between lava and cactus, scuba diving, and surfing some of Europe's best waves!

Ibiza

This is your ultimate wellness destination. The Spanish island of Ibiza recently launched their campaign "Ibiza Es Wellness", and not for nothing...

Here, you'll be immersed in various experiences, from food and hiking tours to exploring the life of bees in Ibiza's apiary or practicing yoga in a paddle board while floating above Ibiza's crystalline waters.

Picos de Europa

Get your hiking shoes on! Picos de Europa's well-defined hiking tracks will let you enjoy the region's scenery while letting you visit ancient villages.

Depending on the route you decide to take you'll also be able to witness and even pet the friendly cows of Lago de Covadonga in a beautiful green valley surrounded by lakes!
